Sexual Reproductive Health at DIY Camp 2019

#DAY 2_ KOMODIY_CAMP 2019.

Taking the time to think about who you are as a person and what will result from the decisions you make will help you make the best possibilities.

The questions in day two before we  got into the Sexual Reproductive health are,

  1. When do you have sex?
  2. How will you protect yourself?
  3. what will you do if someone offers you drugs or alcohol?
  4. Do you think before you act?
  5. Did your friends or family pressure you to choose?
  6. How would you choose differently next time?
  7. Are there barriers that keep you from making the right decision?

We got these questions solved through steps to make important decision,

  • Think of all the good and the bad things that could result from each possible decision.
  • Think about what your family and friends want you to do.
  • Think about what you want and why.
  • Consider all of these views and then make the best choice.
  • Be able to share with other with other the good reasons for decision.

Sometimes you may be in a situation in which you need to make a decision “in the moment”. It may be a choice such as whether or not to have sex with your boyfriend, whether or not to drink alcohol with your friends, or whether or not to cheat on an exam. This is why it is important to think about decisions before hand.

Day 2 of Komo Learning Centers DIY CLUBS Camp Morning sessions have been interesting and adding a great value in the perspective of club members towards girls and women. It is a moment of truth of how equality is important. A dialogue between the boys and girls ended with solution of how each of the opposite sex have to support each other. Below we share a great message to all of you out there.

“It’s important for men and women, boys and girls. to empower each other and to help each other grow, , we all need to learn how to work together, as equals in today’s world. Women and girls are still facing gender inequality. The first thing women and girls need to do to raise above this is to realize they are stronger capable leaders! Experience and achievements help confidence grow, keep trying and never give up, help other women in our life to grow and help the males to grow their understanding of your values. True growth and progress against discrimination women face, will only come when both, women and men understand how important each and every one of us is to a society”.

Its Back diy club camp2019

It’s another time of the year when we bring the Komo learning center DIY clubs family together. The second camp for DO IT YOURSELF CLUB is here. This time we have brought 10 schools together under one roof to reflect on a number of sessions that they have been going through. The camp is taking three days of full packed sessions that builds each individual ability to support his/her community more so focusing on girl’s empowerment.

The camp will involve health sessions, life skills, gender balance and much more. The three days camp has brought together 10 schools, 200 participants including mentors, Coaches, facilitators, champion teachers and Komo learning centre supporting staff members in an educative exciting environment.

We are to give you complete series of real time information of what is inspiring from the camp. This year’s theme is “IN CONCERT FOR A GREATER HORIZON”.  Our focus will be so much on “GENDER”.  All campers are expected to go back in their communities and schools and teach whatever they will learn from the full week.

We would like to remind you that both teacher training and students sessions this year we have, sparked on the perspective of positive thinking and creativity to solve problems in the communities they live in plus understanding the role of girls education in the growing community.

We look forward to share with you educative moments and joy of being a Komo learning centre DIY Club family in the following three days.  Follow our social media platforms for photo stories of the camp.
